My Approach
As a Registered Nurse and Holistic Nutritional Counselor I‘ve found the best way to produce successful and lasting results. My program follows these 7 essential principles for improving your health.
1. Working With Your Unique Needs:
We all have individual health goals, lifestyles and taste preferences. I take this into account when preparing your individualized plan. So for instance, a person who cooks daily for their family would have a different emphasis than a person who dines out nightly.
2. Adding in nutrient-rich food:
Rather than restricting your diet, I encourage you to gradually add in “unprocessed” food that will help your body run more efficiently.
3. Honesty:
I provide a supportive environment, but I am going to be frank so we can work through obstacles that have gotten in your way in the past.
4. Convenience:
All the food I recommend is easily obtained at your local supermarket and big name health food store. I promise to only give you recipes that don’t require a culinary degree. (I, myself, didn’t know there was an appliance other than a microwave until I hit 40.)
5. Taste:
If the food doesn’t taste good, you’re not going to eat it. I only suggest foods and recipes that pass my taste test (and my family’s).
6. Sustainability:
It’s impossible to cook 24/7. Dining out, vacations and parties are a huge part of what makes life enjoyable! I prepare you to make healthy choices in any social situation so you can have fun, worry free.
7. Sense of humor:
It’s always important to maintain a good sense of humor especially when trying new things. You never know when a recipe will turn on you (full disclosure-it’s happened to me).
