This satisfying granola deserves an A in my book just for the company name alone. Two Moms in the Raw also manufactures other snacks such as truffles, nut bars and sea crackers all of which are Vegan, Gluten-free, Kosher and Certified Organic.
My absolute favorite is their Granola, which is packaged conveniently as a generously-sized bar and comes in a variety of flavors: Blueberry, Cranberry, Gojiberry and Raisin. Why am I in love with these wholesome treats? First of all they taste great, having the right combination of slightly sweet, crunchy and chewy. The Granola has no added oils or refined sugars and is about as unprocessed a snack as you can get. They are chock full of whole grain goodness like oat groats, millet and buckwheat combined to perfection with nuts, seeds, dried fruit and spices. Fair warning, the bars do contain some agave, but compared to other raw bars that are loaded with dried fruit, the agave that Two Mom’s uses is minimal.
When I don’t have time for my usual Green Smoothie Breakfast, I opt for a Two Moms in the Raw, Granola Bar. I find these nutritious bars don’t spike my blood sugar or leave me yearning for more food an hour later. If I can complete this “grab and go” breakfast with a piece of fruit, even better. I’m also satisfied with a small piece of the Granola Bar after lunch or dinner when I am craving something sweet.
I discovered Two Moms in the Raw Granola at Starbucks packaged as single-servings (okay, you got me; I do enjoy a cup of Joe from time to time). Once I realized you could purchase the bars in a 4-serving bag through the website or at Whole Foods, I made the switch since dear hubby was consuming them almost daily.
To receive a discount, order a case directly from Two Moms in the Raw. You have about 9 months (or more) before the expiration date, although they will probably be long gone by then.
